Scalextric Jaguar XJ220 Crystal Classics
In fact it was one of the last ‘Made in England’ Scalextric ranges to be produced at the Margate factory in the UK. As you can see it has an unusual transparent see-through plastic body shell, wheels and chassis. The "Barry Potter Fairs" logos on the roof and their "Giant" logo on the bonnet are all factory Tampo printed. And it is entirely possibly that this is the only range to feature a driver and passenger in different colours. Each example features a factory hand applied serial number #??/100 on underside of the chassis and is mounted on a transparent plastic plinth. They were supplied with an A4 size Hornby PLC certificate personally hand-signed and numbered by a senior member of the company plus a numbered envelope. In addition an A6 size carded certificate was supplied and personally hand-signed and numbered by Barry Potter which also had a numbered envelope. I wrote a brief synopsis of the full size Jaguar XJ220 on the reverse side!
